FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Good to Know Before Your Shoot

Answers to common questions about booking, pricing, turnaround, aerial operations, and working with Melty Harris Media.

Booking & Pricing

How do I book a shoot?

Start by sending over the project details through the contact page. I'll review what you're looking for, recommend the right coverage, confirm final pricing and availability, and then we'll schedule the shoot.

Are the prices on your website final?

Listed prices are starting rates for standard projects. Final pricing can vary depending on property size, location, travel, shoot requirements, deliverables, and selected add-ons. You'll receive the total price before booking.

Do you offer custom packages?

Yes. If your project doesn't fit one of the standard services, I can build coverage around what you actually need. Custom projects can include photography, aerial media, video, short-form content, or a combination.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payments and invoices are handled securely online. Payment details and any applicable charges will be confirmed with your project before final delivery.

Services

What types of projects do you shoot?

I provide photography, aerial imagery, and video for real estate, vacation rentals, businesses, contractors and service companies, events, land and acreage, commercial properties, and custom projects.

Can I book only drone photos?

Absolutely. Aerial Property Photos are available as a standalone service, making them a good option if you already have ground-level photography and only need aerial coverage.

Can I book video without a full photography package?

Yes. Standalone aerial video and property video are available, and video can also be added to photography projects depending on what you need.

Do you create vertical video for social media?

Yes. Video can be created in vertical or horizontal format depending on where you plan to use it. Vertical works well for Reels and other short-form social content, while horizontal is better suited for websites, YouTube, and traditional property marketing.

Delivery & Turnaround

How quickly will I receive my photos?

Photography is typically delivered within 24–48 hours. Larger or more complex projects may require additional editing time, and I'll let you know the expected turnaround before the shoot.

How long does video delivery take?

Most edited video projects are delivered within 2–3 business days. More involved projects may require additional editing time depending on the scope and final deliverables.

How will I receive the finished files?

Finished media is delivered digitally so you can easily download and use your files. Photo projects can include high-resolution and web-ready versions depending on the service.

Do you offer rush delivery?

Same-day rush delivery may be available for photography when scheduling and shoot time allow. Rush availability should be confirmed before the shoot.

Drone, Weather & Location

Are you FAA Part 107 certified?

Yes. Commercial aerial services are performed by an FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot. All drone operations are subject to weather, airspace, location, and flight conditions.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If weather conditions aren't suitable for the planned shoot or safe drone operation, we'll work together to reschedule for a better time.

Can you fly a drone anywhere?

Not always. Drone operations depend on airspace, location restrictions, weather, safety conditions, and any required authorization. I'll review the location before the shoot and let you know if aerial coverage is restricted.

What areas do you serve?

Melty Harris Media is based in Boise, Idaho and serves Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Kuna, the surrounding Treasure Valley, and other locations by request.

Can you travel for a project?

Yes. Travel outside the standard service area is available depending on the project. Extended travel may include an additional fee, which will always be confirmed before booking.

Preparing for Your Shoot

How should a property be prepared for photos?

The property should be clean, decluttered, and ready before the scheduled shoot. Turning on interior lights, opening blinds when appropriate, clearing countertops, hiding trash cans, and removing vehicles from key exterior views can make a noticeable difference.

Do I need to be there during the shoot?

Not necessarily. As long as access and shoot details have been arranged in advance, many projects can be completed without the client being on-site.

What should I send you before the shoot?

Send the project address or location, the type of media you need, any important features or shots you want highlighted, and where you plan to use the finished content. For unique projects, additional details can be discussed before scheduling.
